Hello, I’m Henry
I like a lot of art forms but love photographs and films the most. Imagery fuels my desire to discover more about life. Taking pictures is a wonderful pursuit for someone like me as I am naturally reflective and curious about the layers of existence and the natural world.
I grew up in the Surrey Hills, England, where I currently live when not travelling and exploring. I have a strong connection to the hills and beautiful woodland and I spent a lot of my life outdoors exploring. This love of nature later led me to a work project creating a Japanese garden largely on my own for 7 years. A paradise of a place with a humming ecology of soil and wildlife amongst beautifully shaped trees, shrubs, rocks, paths and water. It was there I began to take photos more intentionally. I wanted to capture the magical scenes I saw rise and fall around me, season after season. It was a transformative period for me personally and photographing it became a real passion.
After that chapter of my life, I’ve expanded that love of capturing beautiful scenery by embarking on a series of photographic journeys taking in mountains, coastlines and wildlife as well as the lives of people I’ve seen along the way, both in the UK and far abroad. I now have a portfolio of pictures that show my world view and I’m happy to share them with you on these pages.
I also work with a number of brilliant businesses to help showcase their craft and personality. Preferring a casual approach which helps create a sense of ease in the shoot, the scene and the subjects involved. Authenticity is key, I prefer not to pose or pressure a photo to be taken too much. A natural look is always at the forefront of my photography, observing and waiting for the opportunity to shoot the decisive moment.
Boat Life
Where better place for a nature lover to live than on the water. Surrounded by an ever-changing kaleidoscope of light and wildlife by day, under an infinity of stars by night. Home is not just a place to restore but the source for much of the inspiration behind my images.
